Other stuff:

I have started shopping at Vals up at the Plough. Despite being a teeny weeny shop, they do seem to have things you can't get in other places.

Also, I have recently taken to saying (a la Dulwich mum); "I nearly inhaled my own vomit!"

I've become a bit more involved in the community and have been able to get my points of view across on certain issues, but have also become more addicted to using the internet, which I see as a downside. I think I get riled more by certain things as I know now that others do too and that when I vent, there is likely to be support for that venting, which makes me feel even more self-righteous! Nero

Based on the one time I bought veg there, one of the things they do that you don't get elsewhere is potatoes that are, just beneath the surface, bright green.

Agree that it's a nice little place but I wouldn't go for the "fresh" veg again...

and whoever said any of us weren't entitled to an opinion?

disagreeing with each other's opinions has long been the lifeblood of this place - otherwise everyone would post theirs', that would be that and we could all have an early night!

    • To be fair, a pot of tea for one in a department store is a small pot, and you only get one cup or mug!
    • I know - we have been here lots of times since it first opened,  which is why we were disappointed that it was closed at a time it was supposed to be open, but with no notice to say why! I guess we will just  have to ask the reason at our next visit, but I'm not sure we will risk Saturday lunchtime again unless we find the closure  was an unavoidable one off ....
    • Nope. I don’t have this wrong. I’ve tried to put my point across respectfully, without resorting to personal, angry insults. And all my colleagues agree that the BBC got this right in its condemnation.    All you see is confirmation bias.    If you don’t realise that, then you’re part of the problem.
    • We have always gone during the week at lunch time - great place and good value. Husband has been several times on his own and owner knows his first name. I could not go one time for some reason and she sent him home with some spring rolls (free)
