Martin and Charlie Raynsford have just finished installing a new kitchen in good time and to high standard - am very pleased with it!

Before that they did a carpentry job at another property to high standard.

They are multi skilled, experienced, really know their trades, reliable, fairly priced, local and with good communications.

It was evident that they go the extra mile with attention to detail and thoughtful consideration to do any job well.

They are also two of the most helpful contractors I have met. They come up with positive solutions to whatever is presented.

I highly recommend them and will be asking them to do more work for me into the future.

Martin and Charlie Raynsford have just finished installing a new kitchen

They are highly experienced multi skilled professionals with an eye for detail

In addition they are friendly, approachable and knowledgeable

Having had a terrible time with B&Q, Martin and Charlie re designed the kitchen from incorrect plans and went an extra mile

Installed and completed in record time

Martin gave a free dishwasher and Charlie put up curtain pole and provide us with a refund list for B&Q

Highly recommended and will be using them again in the future

We had help recently from Martin 07747042686, when we got as far as we could with an IKEA kitchen and he helped us progress the job at a reasonable rate.  He was reliable with timings as well and has the kit to cut worktops, etc., so that was what we were looking for!

Martin helped us re-jig our Howdens kitchen, with some new units, a fridge surround, doors, sink and a new worktop. He was up for helping us create something bespoke.

The work was excellent quality and his fee was very reasonable. We got stuck in too and learnt a thing or two 🙂

Charlie also helped with some of the fitting and the tiling - which is also excellent.

Martin built a bespoke cabinet and fitted a new dishwasher / fridge in our kitchen which was quite a complicated task as our kitchen is quite small and difficult to access. He was very reasonably priced, friendly and worked very hard without any breaks.

Martin Raynsford has done a variety of work for me over the last few months - carpentry, fixing windows, sanding and reoiling worktops, fixing kitchen cabinets - plus painting and plastering both externally and internally - very reasonably priced, high quality work. Highly recommended.

    • I’m buying a property that has had three insurance claims in the past 20 years, with the most recent one within the last five years. Before making the purchase, I was told that the front bay window had subsidence caused by a public tree, which the council had removed, and a structural stability report was provided. This explanation seemed reasonable to me, so I made an offer, and it was accepted. During the legal process, however, my solicitor discovered that the situation is actually more complicated. The property had a bay window subsidence claim in 2010 caused by several plants in the front garden, which the owner removed. Everything appeared fine for the next eleven years, but then subsidence was discovered again, this time due to a public tree. Despite the tree affecting the bay window, the council refused to remove it, so the issue is ongoing . All insurers have rejected providing cover for the property; only the current insurer might accept it depending on the underwriter’s assessment, and I have no idea how expensive the premium could be, they don't even give me a quote at this stage unless the seller's provide their current insurance policy number (very strange requirement) In addition to this, the house has suspected drainage issues and a leaking incoming water main. The owner is aware of these problems but has been unable to carry out repairs—likely because Thames Water has not cooperated. Drainage issues are a nightmare for any buyer, and although the water main leak is less serious, it is still time-consuming to resolve with Thames Water. The property is not cheap, and others paying the same price are buying homes with much better potential. I feel very frustrated by the number of insurance claims; I would honestly prefer if the seller had made none at all. If the insurance premium ends up being over £5,000 per year, I will definitely pull out—not because I cannot afford it, but because it would significantly reduce the pool of buyers when I eventually sell. There are plenty of straightforward properties on the market, and my budget is strong enough to choose among them. I feel very exhausted. I wasn’t even that interested in the property to begin with, and now I’ve ended up in this embarrassing situation.
