Amateur Scientist
This is my first post on the forum. I'll get straight to the point. There appear to be all kinds of special interest groups holding meetings in ED, including some intellectual activity on the side of the arts, but I have not come across any friendly meetings-in-the-pub-on-thursdays-at-7.30 type things for scientists.I know, from the fact that sainsbury's stocks New Scientist regularly, that there are scientists around here - MScs, PhDs, postdocs, prof.s and perhaps even a couple of Nobel prize winners. It'd be great to get a few of us together to shoot the breeze about whatever is happening in the lab [unless it happens to be classified].Am. uncleglen
As a scientist, I would rather read Scientific American or Nature- New Scientist is pop science.
