Ambient house temperature

Hi all,

What is the temperature in your home at the mo?

Mine is ranging from 11?c to 15?c (warmest spot) and I?m really cold and fed up.

I don?t think I should need the heating on in May.

We put a jumper on when it?s cold, or a big fat onesie, unless we definitely need every room in the house to be comfortably warm at the same time.

A balmy 20C in the living room at the moment, but that's due to the morning sunshine which it catches.

Where I work is cooler so I keep doors open to help distribute any heat gain and keep temps even. It's also the room with the least external wall area, which along with windows is where coldness permeates through...

At the time of the original post 18.7-22.1 degrees C. But I too am lucky enough to catch the sun. Coldest temperature over winter was 14 and this is not a particularly well-insulated house.

We tried not having the heating on and then had an oil filled electric radiator in the office. It was on 8 hours a day ?10 more a week. But if you are sitting down all day you need a bit of heat if you are not in the sun

South facing double glazed windows helps keep it warmish but I do put the heating on for about three hours from 6 or so. (A plumber said to turn off upstairs rads and keep the thermostat at around 17 to aid faster warming.)

Currently 19.5C in the coolest part of the house. 21-23C elsewhere. Modern house that gets a lot of sun at the front during the day.

I rely on the thermostat to turn the heating on when it gets cold, regardless of the season. Usually have it set for 19 during the day and 16 at night.

Temperature varies according to wind direction and amount of sun. Really difficult to get right. Set the thermostat at 18.5 some days too warm, some days too cold.
