What's the make/model of this silver spots car?

Had a note from the local neighbourhood watch police - a grey VW golf.

Are we allowed to include the registration - it's come from the met, so reputable (!) - but I'm not sure about the rules for such things on here.

Ok, so this was from local PCSO:

"Please can everyone keep an eye out for the following vehicle which is involved in recent attempted burglaries in The Gardens and other areas nearby.

If you can advertise this when ever possible I would appreciate it.

Likely to have 3 black men inside aged 20-30 yrs.

I was told today that there were 3 males on house forecourt peering through front windows .

And also cars .

Described as teenage .

This was in Barry Rd about 4 pm .

My son is the owner of the car with registration number mentioned. He does not drive a Grey VW Golf. He has contacted the police and the registration mentioned 'is not of interest to police' and is clearly a mistake.

My son lives and works in SE22 and was certainly not attempting to break into any flats.

Appreciate neighbourhood watch and passing on information, but this appears to be incorrect information.

My son has contacted admin to remove this registration number.

I've flagged to the police who shared the information, so they can check / amend their records.

The car that I saw them leave in (attempted break in on Solway Road), wasn't a Golf. But then it is possible they have changed cars since last Monday. It was a 2 door from what I could see, but more of a sleek car - lower roof, longer than a Golf. And silver rather than grey. I couldn't make out the model/make from where I was standing though before they drove off

I'm Puzzled as to why the police Can not trace them being that they have the registration number now.

Surely it can be traced for the owner and an address, thats if its not stolen of course. ?
