Summer 7+ Creative Writing Workshop

The Summer 7+ Creative Writing Workshop takes place on 26th-27th August, 2021, 9am-3pm.

This course is aimed at children going into years 2 and 3, who will be sitting the 7+ this coming term, but for children who are working more at NC levels and are going into year 3 it is also a very good fit, as 7+ students are working far ahead of NC levels for their age. We look at sentence structure, adding detail and description with adjectives, adverbs, fun and exciting verbs, openers and the 5 senses, as well as similes. We work on story mountains/volcanoes and how to write a 3-5 paragraph story with a clear progression and resolution.

We offer a wide range of services from one to one tuition through to intensive holiday courses, weekly workshops, entrance exam tuition and private coaching and mentoring.

One to one tuition takes place in your home on a day and at a time that suits you, normally after school or at the weekend. This is often for between 1 and 2 hours per week per subject and can last for anything between 3 months and several years.

We run intensive week long courses for entrance exam students during half terms and school holidays, which give a much needed boost in confidence and exam technique at important milestones in the student?s timetable. Course sizes are always kept to a maximum of 10 students to allow for plenty of individual attention and a tailored approach.

We run GCSE revision skills workshops which focus on empowering year 10 and 11 students to study more effectively using a wide range of revision techniques, as well as supporting them to plan and timetable their work to minimise exam stress.

We run extremely popular weekly workshops in creative writing and the creative arts, as well as holiday alternatives, which encourage children to develop passions for these disciplines and allow them to work in a way which is often not possible in the school environment.
