Nigello Posted July 27, 2021 Share Posted July 27, 2021 It used to be that the council would pay for vandalism on shop fronts/shutters (tags, etc.) to be cleaned off. Now, apparently, it does not. Should it set money aside for this, or should businesses do it themselves? (Few do, unfortunately, even as retail needs a boost). Guest Posted July 28, 2021 Share Posted July 28, 2021 Councils could pay for CCTV on application of shops and businesses and then acquire evidence useful to obtain antisocial behaviour orders. It may be a deterrent and at the same time a concrete aid to solve the problem. Pugwash Posted July 29, 2021 Share Posted July 29, 2021 As far as I understand, thet businesses are responsible for their premises including their forecourts. If the forecourt is dangerous - the council can ask that this be rectified within a certain period of time. Eventually council may repair it themselves and charge the business/landlord.
