Just want to add to this recommendation - Paul is a top legend and did a fantastic job re tiling our kitchen recently, helped me sort the tiles, fixed a couple of problems we discovered, and finished the job really quickly, we are so pleased with the result!

I wanted to add to this recommendation as I used Paul after seeing this post. He re-tiled my kitchen splashback last week and was super fast, finished to an excellent standard and reasonable price. Also a very friendly guy (and very tall!!!!). We spoke a couple of times on the phone beforehand and he gave me some good advice and guidance about what tiles to get etc.

I just want to add to the list of recommendations for Paul. He tiled our hallway last week and did an excellent job: quick, tidy, finished to a high standard, and reasonably priced. He also was really conscientious and pointed out some minor issues with our tiles before laying them - we were fine with them, just some minor blemishes, but Paul was willing to wait if we wanted to re-order, which he didn?t have to do.

Can?t recommended him highly enough!

Hi all,

I just want to continue the recommendations for Paul - He's an excellent tiler, he recently did our kitchen splash-back and bathroom floor and we're very happy - he's fast, really knows his stuff, gives great advice and charges a fair price. We will be using him again,

Paul is on 07548426131

Another recommendations for Paul. I got his name on here and he's just finished tiling our bathroom. It was a tricky job with a complicated pattern. He did it really well and it looks great. He offered useful suggestions which we agreed with. His price was very competitive too.

Adding my recommendation for Paul. He retiled an area of our bathroom tiles following a leak and it looks great. He also repaired a few tricky patches of our Victorian tiles in our hallway. All for a fair price. We were really pleased with is work and will be using him again in the future. Paul 07548 426131

Another one to add to the pile of recommendations for Paul. He did a marvelous job doing the backsplash in our kitchen. The tiles we had were not all the same size, shape and colour. He did a great job in making them look slightly 'undone' and rustic - the look we were going for. He was also great at giving us advice on how far up we went or not with the tiling which was useful as we couldn't decide.

Another recommendation for Paul Ardley. He recently tiled our hallway.  He is very diligent, showing care and attention to detail and we're very happy with the end result.   He's also very helpful and friendly and has great taste in music.  It was a pleasure to have engaged him for this job and I have no reservations in recommending his services.  07548 426131

    • There's probably a bigger discussion on why we celebrate Christmas (pagan/religious festival) and why everything has to shut down.  I've enjoyed Xmas days in Spain, Mexico and France where some businesses and restaurants are open, and in a number of non-Christrian countries.  In both sets of occasions it has been festive, but not over the top and the Spanish seem to have a more relaxed attitude in a country where the church is probably more important than the UK.  A Lounge conversation.  I'll no doubt be popping into the Forest Hill Road supermarket on Xmas day for things we have forgotten, with many others in a similar situation who grew up in the Christian faith (I've long since been an atheist).
    • Would anyone have ends of balls of wool, any colour, to mend an old blanket? Any colour? With thanks Mila
    • I’m not a Gail’s fan but there’s no reason a business shouldn’t open on Christmas Day. However, nobody should be compelled to work the day which, given the widespread coverage of Gail’s questionable employment practices, has to be a possibility here.  The only business I ever use on the 25th is maybe a pub and that’s a rarity these days but buses running would be very welcome for visiting etc. But the swings in the park should definitely remain chained up. Are parks even open on Christmas Day?
    • To be honest, pal, it's not good being a fan of a local business and then not go there. One on hand, the barber shop literally next door to Romeo Jones started serving coffee. The Crown and Greyhound and Rocca serve coffee. Redemption Coffee opened up not far away, and then also Megan's next door to that. DVillage was serving coffee (but wasn't very popular), as was Au Ciel (which is). Maybe also Heritage Cheese, I don't know. There's also Flotsam and Jetsam doing coffee and sandwiches at Dulwich Picture Gallery in the other direction. The whole of Dulwich Village serves coffee. And yet on the other hand, there are enough punters to support all good coffee shops. With the exception of Rocca and Megan's (which are both big spaces) and C&G (which does coffee like everything else - slow and with bad service), all these places regularly get queues out the door. Gail's often has big queues and yet very few people crossed the street to Romeo Jones (which was much better)... Half the staff at Gail's are perfectly fine and efficient. The other half are pretty offhand and rude. It's certainly not welcoming or friendly service. But they're certainly hard working, and no doubt raking the money in for Luke Johnson...
