Congratulations to the organisers of the GALA festival

Just wanted to put on record my congratulations to the organisers of the GALA festival. What a great event. It must have been so stressful for them - particularly given all the uncertainty of the recent environment. While it may have caused irritation for some, it?s so brilliant to be back in a situation in which people have the freedom to have a good time.

I went on Friday and had a great time. It was really well organised and people we (broadly!) well behaved. We are so lucky to live in such a vibrant city and fantastic society. After 18 months of sacrifice for others, it was really nice that young people got to do something on their terms.

Thought someone was having a big street party until realised it was coming from the Rye. This followed the jerk cookout event on Saturday, so we have had live music in earshot all weekend, although I preferred the former. The Horniman event was very friendly, as it sounds GALA. Nice one.

The way the place has been left is absolutely appalling.

Perhaps take photo's and send to the Councillors, the council direct, News shopper and South London Press, always looking for a story and angle.
