Hi all

my wife and I are undertaking some work to our house in Brockley (I am an architect and thought this was a good idea just after having twins!!)and are in need of a short term (3 month) rental for ourselves, our 3 year old and our baby twins while the works are completed.

We are looking from around the end of August - mid nov anywhere from Brockley to dulwich, peckham to honor oak.

Hope there is a lovely family out there with a 3 bed & garden that need a likewise bunch to look after their home for a bit...

My number is 07825 617 137, email [email protected]

Hi Stefan, We are renting our family house out as we have moved north. If you're interested, please let me know. I have also sent you an email.

It's in Stories Mews, SE5. There's a lovely family next door and great neighbours in the Mews.

    • Apologies on the tardy reply, but thank you everyone for your responses and suggestions! Unfortunately I couldn't attend the recent EDF drinks because of work (I know right). But will absolutely keep eyes peeled for the next one and try and come down!
    • Because of the weather which delayed completion with roofer only being able to work certain days, it was up from November - end of January. Went slightly higher than gutters (we also had guttering replaced).
    • It's tough being a courier and the pay which is largely based on the number they deliver is miserable. Hence the staff turnover is high. EFRI was previously branded as HERMES but they had to create a new brand name because of poor performance. We get regular courier deliveries and EVRI are by far the worst. They just drop the parcel at the front door - often without ringing the bell. But worst is when they deliver to the equivalent door number on LL instead of ours on EDG. Best are ParcelForce, DHL and DPD by a wide margin.
    • I know the couple you mean, and she has always been friendly and smiley when delivering to me, but obviously in a hurry, for all the reasons outlined in the thread. My gate is always open, however (unless someone coming to the house closes it when they leave). I can't see the point of gates that have to be opened and shut again every time someone comes to the house. It just seems a waste of time, and it's annoying if you are carrying stuff. And a closed gate  conveys a sort of "my house is my fortress" feel. To me, anyway.
