Looking for full-time housekeeper, Sept start

We are a lovely family in Dulwich looking for a full time, live-out Housekeeper/Cook. Total hours are 35 hours per week, approx. 11am-6:30pm Monday to Friday with some flexibility possible. Interviewing now for a September start.

We have always employed a nanny for our boys and they have been very much part of the family. Our boys are now growing up (14+ years, with one at university) and we are now looking for a housekeeper. Previous employees would describe us as fair, empathetic and friendly. Both parents work full-time in senior roles and as such discretion and confidentiality is vital.

The salary offered will be competitive, depending on the candidate?s experience, skills and qualifications. 25 days paid holiday included, plus public holidays, and pension. A car will be provided for undertaking duties as part of the role. Whilst the general duties are described in detail below, some flexibility is required during school holidays to assist with general support for our boys.

The successful candidate needs to be reliable and proactive, speak good English, have an eye for detail and take pride in their work. This is a fantastic position for a professional, warm and friendly individual who is looking for a long-term role.

They will also:

Be eligible to work within the UK

Have a UK drivers licence

Have experience working within a private household as a Housekeeper/Cook

Have excellent contactable references

Possess (/be willing to get) an up to date DBS check

Duties include:

General housekeeping duties, keeping a tidy and clean house

Regular cleaning to a high quality standard, deep cleaning of specific areas when required

Manage regular deliveries such as shopping, milkman, flowers

Food and grocery shopping and other errands, e.g. drycleaning and post office

Manage dog-walker, window-cleaner and gardener, plus arrange any maintenance work as agreed

Making beds and changing linen

All washing and ironing

Planning, preparation and cooking of evening meal for family

Keeping garden patio and front porch areas clean and tidy

Watering of plants, internally and externally, when needed

Taking the dog to the groomers, and vet as required
