Apple - Need training - How did you learn to be good at it?

Recommended Posts

When using Apple products, the Icloud, and having multiple devices, how did you learn to use the system properly so you never deleted photos accidently especially with multi-devices including kids' ipads? Was it trial and error? Or did you get some training? Does Apple do home training so you don't have to lug your computer in?

I just want to lose photos by accident and am keen to learn more about parental controls.

You don't have to worry about losing photos. In fact, once you've taken one, it's actually quite hard to really get rid of it.

The photos that are on a device, are on a device and are not going anywhere unless actively deleted from that device.

In the case that they _are_ actively deleted from that device, then they are not really deleted but simply moved to a folder called DELETED PHOTOS, where they will stay for another 30 days, and from where they can be restored at any point in the 30 days. You have to proactively delete them from the Deleted Photos folder if you want get rid of them sooner than that - something worth bearing in mind if you ever need to free up storage space, as this folder can get quite big!

Make an appointment at The Genius Bar in any Apple store (you can make the appointment online), or just wander in to one and ask for help, and one of those kids in a pastel coloured sweatshirt will literally spend hours with you explaining it all. For free!

If you have any brand new Apple product, you can get free telephone call / video call / chat support to explain it all. It doesn't matter where you bought from, as long as it was new when bought.

    • The Chadwick Road railway bridge is also sheet ice. Watched 3 hire bike's lose it and come off and one car which ended up on the pavement. The bikes seemed very surprised when it happened although you could see the ice.

    • Please be aware that there is a huge sheet of ice approx 12ft x 6ft on the road at the top end of Avondale Rise on the left hand side approaching Ivanhoe Road.  The council was told earlier this morning, but advised that, due to a reduced service, it is unlikely that grit /salt will be spread before Monday!  Several (thankfully minor) accidents have happened since this morning.  A resident has thoughtfully erected a temporary sign to advise traffic of the hazard, but bearing in mind that temperatures are due to fall to -4 over the weekend and this is on a bus route, please be very careful if driving on this road.
