*****POSTPONED******

Local artists Anders Gramer and Bethan McFadden present a series of collaborative works combining ink and graphite with photography.

Drawing on a shared interest in biological processes and the nature of mind, ?Interbeing? offers a visual exploration of the interconnectedness of organic life, examining the impermanence of the body and the possibilities of transformation.

We are not alone in our bodies. The average human is comprised of 30 trillion cells but plays host to an even greater number of bacteria. Each of these microorganisms behaves as a ?self?, engaging in a dialogue with the human self. In joint pieces that combine drawing and ink with photography, and individual pieces created in response to the other?s work, Anders and Bethan probe the nature of interdependence and autonomy, exploring what it means to be receptive and responsive, singular yet multitudinous.

The forms that emerge from the collaboration often appear in motion, some caught in moments of transformation. Cells scatter or coalesce. One organism dies and unfolds into another. The overall impression is of life in flux, ever ending, ever beginning, transitory and miraculous.

    • If you are that bothered, why don't you ask the people at the mosque what the situation is, and let us all know? 🤣 I live round the corner and I hadn't even noticed an awning, let alone one "half hanging off". If you think it's a safety hazard, that's a different issue, and one they may not be aware of, in which case you should definitely let them know.
    • I guess, in a few weeks we will see if he is still a councillor or goes back to teaching 🤔
    • What happened with the Heygate was absolutely scandalous. The lack of accountability is shocking.
    • Because the previous Libdem/Tory coalition council did so much better? ....Oh wait. Selling off the Heygate at a bargain price and reducing the number of council homes it replaced? Being in opposition is so much easier isn't it James.  The point on allowances etc is a valid one, and that is about finding the right balance between the responsibility of those cabinet roles and the role of service that should underpin all political aspirations in an ideal world. Holding down a full time job, while having to attend meetings and then deal with case work on top, is a huge ask imo. People in key roles need to have the time needed to do those roles effectively, so some renumeration makes sense. It's just a question of where the balance should be. McAsh has walked away from that, so his convictions are doing more talking than careerism arguably.  Worth pointing out that most MPs started out as party/ political activists/ campaigners on a local level. Different parties have different processes for selecting candidates, but everyone starts out at a low level.
