Hi All,

I'm hoping this is just a neighbourly gesture, but as none of our neighbours were home today or recognise the chap captured on our ring camera we're assuming the worst.

Keep an eye out folks, this was on Goodrich Road around 14:57. Walked to our door with a large cardboard box, clocked the parcel on our doorstep, went next door and leaned over the fence- took the parcel and walked up the road towards the Dawson's Height's end.

If anyone knows a white guy wearing a green polo shirt, green shorts and black sliders today, please let me know as we've been in touch with the police due to the contents of the parcel.

No, different guy- I need to down res the images so I can upload them later today.

Just to further update, he also took a parcel from our neighbours before leaning over the wall to take ours. The dummy box he used to approach and pretended to deliver was empty and addressed to 135 Upland Road- PM me if that's you and need any info.
I've seen two or three mentions now of carried empty cartons, preumably being used as a sort of camouflage. Are the people walking around with these or have they come by vehicle? Is there any possibility that they're combining opportunistic thieving with genuine courier work?

They were in a car as we heard the engine running and the door slam on the video. I think just opportunistic given the time from delivery to theft, but who knows- it sort of reminds me of the guys that just do the rounds checking skips for scrap, if you drive around long enough you might get lucky.

Anyway glitter bomb ordered as a "thank you" should they come back....

What should a person do about parcels being delivered to the doorstep only? I live on Upland Road which I understand has had several doorstep thefts. I've had 2 parcels delivered by Amazon in recent days and they were left on the step (doorbell rung) luckily I was home to bring them in pretty quickly so nothing lost. I feel bad for the delivery drivers as they have such impossible schedules but at the same time ...

    • A shout out for Mark, owner of Pure Plumbers. 07970 971510 They're well established in the Sevenoaks area, but have recently started doing more work in SE London.  Did some v quick and efficient bathroom and boiler fixes for me; have also seen some of the bathrooms he's built, which have a nice attention to detail. • Totally agree regarding not supporting chains. Gail’s was fine but last time I went in Feb this year, actually walked out Fayetteville looking at menu and waiting 15 minutes to even get glass of water and not busy at all. Staff gone down hill - sooner it goes the better… Always prefer to support non chains - so many lovely places with good food to choose from with pleasant staff who know about customer service and sadly, non English which says a lot for our culture, pubs are also becoming abit of a hit and miss affair but maybe just unlucky. At the end of the day all about the chef. Still abit unclear where new place is located - is it down the road from Goose Green where parade of shops are before Peckham Rye?
    • Surely only where the local businesses offer clear advantages, otherwise you are rewarding what should be failure. I want to be served by a better bakery than Gail's, not a worse but local independent one. Certainly give a local independent some time to get the offer right, but don't buy goods which are worse and or more expensive just because the outlet isn't a chain.
    • Let’s just boycott all chains in favour of local businesses.  Places like Gail’s popping up everywhere has a very damaging impact on small businesses. It’s just the same as the new empanadas place but on a bigger scale. I’ll say it a million times more, we hold the power with our choices. Let’s use our power to look after ourselves and our environment (which includes small local family businesses). And yes, I also love Chacarero.
