are you guys aware of how much of a DDIY person I am ?

Recommended Posts

there is this hammock in my life that I had back home in LX, so I brought it over.

Couldn't think of a valid reason for us to be living separate lives.

Plus since we live in a sunny country I thought that was a smart thing to do.

I already have a hook on one side of the big window and only needed another hook on the other side of the same big window, stretch the whole thing across and hibernate the rest of the summer.

so you guys may think, yeah what's the big issue with that? make a hole, put the hookie stuff in, go on it and snooze.

yeah, got myself together and went to the plough, asked them for a hook thing capable of holding two persons and two cats but they had none of the size I wanted. bollocks. For the first time I asked them for something and they didn't have it.

No worries, I'll go a little bit further and ask the other ones by cafe nero (which had faked its application to the council btw), but they had none.

Next in line is B&Q, jumped on a bus got off at old kent road and checked if they had big hooks over there.

nothing, no one seems to sell big hooks in this country.

demoralized I got lazy

decided to go worldwide, online shopping!!!

found this website, bought a big hook, same size as the other one I had, the metal thing that goes around the screw and a drill bit thing to make the hole.

waited, and waited, waited, and last week the red, black and white piece of paper arrived on my postbox.

today I went to the post office to pick my package, but the mr postman showed me a really long package and told me to be careful as the drill was popping from a whole in the box.

I looked a bit confused with the size of the package and the apparent size of the drill. Mr postman even asked me what was I going to drill with that drill, I looked up and told him that I wasn't sure, but I had hope to find some water or some oil in the garden.

went home, wet, unwrapped the whole thing and realized that maybe the measurements I saw online were not in mm (millimeters) but probably in inches. so instead of buying a drill 20cms long I got something more looking like a meter long.

now how much of a don't do it yourself person am I?

or in other words:

dickhead

cromo da bola

atrofiado

vai buscar lenha

    • "In Southwark, you can recycle plastic plant pots at home in your main recycling bin, provided they are not black, as black plastic is often not detected by recycling machinery. Clean, rigid plastic pots (tubs/trays) are accepted, but soft plastic pots should be taken to a local supermarket drop-off point" B&Q take as well https://www.diy.com/responsible-business/community/community-re-use (I've just found much of this out) Or you can make little men
    • Can they be recycled? I didn't know that. I've tried to give them away in the past. One community garden took a load one year, but I haven't had much luck otherwise. People are probably trying to get rid of their own 🤣 I don't know why nurseries don't use biodegradable pots, but I suppose it's because they would biodegrade before the plant reached the plant centre/retailer and then the gardener at the end of the chain.
    • I'm surprised no one has commented yet on the Rolls Royce phantom that was parked on the same side of the road, just a few yards away (not kidding). Lordship is the true millionaires' mile.
