63 Bus: no service to Forest Hill Road

From TFL: Status alert for route 63

Road being closed both directions due to a burst water main and road sinking. As a result, route 63 is ending/commencing its journey at Peckham Rye and route 363 is diverting from Peckham Rye and will not serve stops between Friern Rd and Underhill Rd in either direction.

Is this burst where Thames Water have been disrupting traffic for months to replace the old main? Or a knock on consequence of that work? What a shambles!

What again, they only just fixed the main a couple of weeks ago and in fact I understood that it was gradually being replaced. When is this Thames Water shambles ever going to come to a conclusion??

It's two issues - there is a big leak on Wood Vale - yes, on the site of the recently replaced water main. Having seen the quality of the Thames Water work at the junction of Melford and Underhill where they replaced the water main and in doing so cracked the gas main (then covered it up and left it like that causing months of further works), I'm not surprised.

The closure of Peckham Rye looks to be a burst pipe - as far as I know not one that has recently been replaced. This is what's affecting the 63 and 363.

Just went past - big hole near Harris Boys. Nobody working on it, but a very helpful notice from Thames Water: we expect to finish on 19th September. Not a huge priority, then.

The work is being done in the middle of the night. Very relaxing for us locals!

Looked like they were backfilling the hole when I cycled past at 8.30am so suspect the work may have gone up the priority list (especially if they were working at night).
