Muttley
I'm following up on the recent thread about the planned closure of East Dulwich Police Station (which provoked a lot of anger along the lines of 'we need local police, not a remote bunch in Camberwell'). I was chatting to a local pc the other day, and asked for the scoop. His understanding was that the plan is to have smaller community offices in each of the three Dulwich wards, one on Lordship Lane, one near the village, one...er...the other place. Sounds like they might be waiting for a suitable secure site to become available on The Lane before closing the existing station. Seems like a good plan to me. Can anyone corroborate this story? Crystal Tips
the plan is that Walworth, Peckham and Southwark Police Stations will be retained but Rotherhithe, Camberwell and East Dulwich have been identified for closure. These 3 stations will be replaced by a patrol base, a custody centre and eight safer neighbourhood bases (6 of which will have front counters). ...... so the borough commander Malcolm Tillyer was saying in Southwark Life. Think would be interesting if 3 of them were in Dulwich wards - didn't think most demand would be there Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/2942-police-station-news/#findComment-90886 Share on other sites
