If you are thinking of topping your car up ask yourself fo you really need to?

Do you know someone who filled up jerry cans? Could they offer fuel to a key worker so they can get to work / someone to do something for someone self-isolating / someone to get to their Covid booster or flu jab appointment?

You should be able to fill up a jerry from most garages. I completely ran out of fuel and the garage I visited (which was closed to vehicles filling up) allowed me to fill a jerry can on the basis that my car had "broken down" and was not outside my house, so calling AA / RAC didn't appear to be an option. The chap running the garage said that they were never actually meant to or allowed to run out completely given that emergency vehicles should always have somewhere to fill up. Makes sense. So if you've a jerry can, or can buy one at a garage that is otherwise closed you should still be able to get a few miles' worth to keep you going.

    • I thought the most they sell in terms of hot food at londis is like pastries and sausage rolls and for hot drinks its like costa coffee but its always a convenience store. Doesn’t look too bad in my opinion considering that shop has been closed down ever since i moved here
    • Hi Busterb, Yesterday I turned up with a scanner & towels, hoping to take a deceased tabby down to TNV. The body was moved moments before arrival & had not been turned in to any vets, rescues or animal hospitals. I am wondering if this could have been the same cat & if someone just tried to move the tabby further away from the road. Please be warned, viewers discretion is advised. but this is what the deceased tabby looked like: https://www.facebook.com/groups/900015513463302/permalink/3729980853800073/  In any case, if you haven't been able to get someone to scan or take down to a vet, I can scan tomorrow morning.
    • Wholeheartedly recommend Aria. He was polite, responsive and sorted our leak, from an old tap on an old plumbing system, with no bother and on same day.
