Resolve Roofing

Has anyone been in touch with this company recently?

We had some work done by them on our flat roof which with recent heavy rain we realise is still leaking and they have not completed another part of the work they promised to do (replacing some glass they accidentally broke). They have not responded to any emails or phone calls in over a week.

Does anyone know them?

I had a leaflet from Resolved roofing and one fromSkylark roofing. They claim to be different companies but they have the same postal address. I got someone from Skylark to give me a quote. I showed the guy both leaflets as they had the same photos, 20% discount etc but he said Resolved was nothing to do with him. I never received a written quote from him. I would report Resolved to trading standards if I were you...

1) It's owned solely by Matthew Dean Eastwood, b.1994. Companies House records https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/officers/4MK9RmtMDTMVF1HP3lG-SyATpHw/appointments show him as sole owner of these four companies.

Resolved Roofing Ltd, Feb 2020

Solution Roofing Ltd, June 2021

The dates are of their incorporation and, for the first two, their voluntary dissolution. Resolved Roofing's first year accounts are due to be filed with CH by 10 November. The first two were dissolved before any accounts were filed there.

2) I used https://tineye.com/ to check most or all of the sixteen photographs displayed in the Gallery https://www.resolvedroofingltd.co.uk/roofer-lewisham-gallery-page.html beside the caption "ROOFING WORK BY RESOLVED ROOFING LTD". I found only two for which multiple matches weren't found elsewhere on the web. These matches typically included instances from other locations, companies, countries, or photo stock libraries, and dated back to at least 2017.

singalto, the only Skylark Roofing Ltd is owned by someone else who seems to live in Romford or S.Benfleet. So perhaps your Skylarker wasn't incorporated. Where was the common address, Mitcham, Ruislip, Lewishan, Greenwich, ...? A few addresses appear in the above companies' records, as a company or director's contact address. I think they are mostly accountants or virtual office addresses.

    • Callout for help from any local experts here. Looking to find out more about the history of the property on the corner of Whateley Road and Ulverscroft road (with the green glazed bricks). Now a residential property, i'm told it was a bottle shop in days gone (the house was built around 1900) by and i'd like to learn more about the history of the business that was once here - name, photos, anything at all really! Seems to be very little from open source research so i'm hoping anyone with history in the area can provide any insight!  Starting here before i contact Southwark Archives or similar orgs to get any information and pictures (any advice here also would be welcome). Thank you
    • Portable ramps are available for businesses to use in this sort of situation, aren't they? I don't know whether one would be suitable for use here, or whether they have the space to store one. Lots of people have  permanent or temporary disabilities which mean they have to use crutches or a wheelchair.
    • I can’t remember where I read that figure but this article in the Grauniad from 2023 discusses Ocado results from 2022. The average shopping cart fell to £118 from £129 the previous year. But Ocado lost £500m that year on approximately 20 million orders (circa 400k orders per week). So, averaging out to £25 lost per order. Ocado pauses building new warehouses as annual losses balloon to £500m | Ocado | The Guardian  Obviously, the £500m loss includes various factors. But Ocado has existed for 25 years and only made a small profit in a couple of those years. The rest have been huge losses. Yet it continues to raise funds and speculation sends the share price up and down. In that respect,  it’s like the UK version of Tesla. Meanwhile, the main growth in the supermarket sector has been for Aldi and Lidl, who do not deliver.
