madger
Hello, this is one of those small but skilled jobs that I know aren't always that popular! I did have a handyman to originally do this but unfortunately it was just too much for him and he very badly cut down my loft hatch and the surrounding architrave, and managed to break the brand new loft ladder. He was nice, I just wish he had told me it was all too much for him. I therefore need a really good, efficient carpenter/handyman/builder who would be happy to sort this all out for me. The hinges were put on the wrong way to the loft hatch, the edge has been hacked at and I can't use the ladder. Does anyone have recommendations for someone who might be able to come and fix it all for me?! I think good carpentry skills are needed, as I'd love to get the poor damaged architrave/hatch etc sorted, as well as get the ladder properly installed and fixed. Not expecting to be besieged by enquiries for this one (!) but fingers crossed! Thank you all. Sue
If he is still doing it, I very highly recommend Graham, 07930 763431.He specialises in loft ladders and did a fab job for me some years back, including widening the hatch.ETA: He was competent, friendly, and phoned to let me know he was running late (by about five minutes :) )I would definitely use him again.
