Someone to fix loft hatch/carpenter/loft ladder

Hello,

this is one of those small but skilled jobs that I know aren't always that popular! I did have a handyman to originally do this but unfortunately it was just too much for him and he very badly cut down my loft hatch and the surrounding architrave, and managed to break the brand new loft ladder. He was nice, I just wish he had told me it was all too much for him. I therefore need a really good, efficient carpenter/handyman/builder who would be happy to sort this all out for me. The hinges were put on the wrong way to the loft hatch, the edge has been hacked at and I can't use the ladder. Does anyone have recommendations for someone who might be able to come and fix it all for me?! I think good carpentry skills are needed, as I'd love to get the poor damaged architrave/hatch etc sorted, as well as get the ladder properly installed and fixed. Not expecting to be besieged by enquiries for this one (!) but fingers crossed! Thank you all.

If he is still doing it, I very highly recommend Graham, 07930 763431.

He specialises in loft ladders and did a fab job for me some years back, including widening the hatch.

ETA: He was competent, friendly, and phoned to let me know he was running late (by about five minutes :) )

I would definitely use him again.

    • Another recommendation for Niko. Great communication, top guy, and super reliable and skilled - all at a fair price. Takes a lot of care in what he does and talks you through everything.
    • Some foxes are very tame. The foxes that live near the electricity sub-station thing on the corner of Calton and Woodwarde will happily walk up to you/passed you. They are some of the best looking foxes around so clearly being well-fed - glorious coats and bushy tails but interested in humans and keen to engage/be fed rather than being scared.
