I have had a bad experience with a trader who was recommended on the forum under the name Ed plumbing services, forum name Ed plumber.

We were unable to get hold of him after we'd parted with money, and I posted with our problem:

I see under the rules of posting for businesses 'Businesses must be based in East Dulwich and they must state their (trading) address' ? did he supply one?

I'm asking now because I have been pm'd to say that we're not alone, and I really want to just warn people not to pay up front and be wary. ?200 for materials turned out to be a foot of copper pipe :)

Hi sjsl

It will be worth posting on this thread https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?30,2209677 as he seems to have lots of positive recommendations there. I'm sure he'll appear if you post something negative on there.

    • So let's never do anything that might improve an area, because it will just be dragged down to the level of what's presently there? Is that what you are saying? I don't have the time or the inclination to do the research, but I'm pretty sure that I have read  that when people who had lived in a very run down area  were given  nice surroundings, they appreciated and looked after them.
