At the moment I prefer being single. It gives me space to follow whatever path I choose.

Nicki, I was also in a physically abusive relationship, however as a former soldier and now copper I felt incredibly isolated and lonely. You cannot talk to mates "on the job" and friends that we had were retained by her in the break-up.

You should learn to value your freedom. By your logic, I should consider all women to be scumbags, but I don't. An entire gender should not be tainted due to one bad apple.

Being single beats being in a bad relationship by miles, or even a so so relationship. I found being single hard when I lived in a small town where pretty much everyone was married with kids, but in London there's so many more single people to hang out with, and even those that are in relationships seem less inclined to vanish once they've settled down. If you've got lots of friends you are often less lonely than someone in a bad relationship.

Nonetheless, I'm not giving up on the chance of love yet, will just be quite fussy. And by that I don't mean earns a fortune / drop dead gorgeous, just mean am not putting up with being treated badly. Fortunately I haven't suffered like some have, but my ex fiance concealed a very big secret from me that blew our relationship up in catastrophic style so honesty is going to be very important in the future.

Lol, no.

Bet Vicky Pryce wishes she'd kept her mouth shut instead of seeking revenge.

    • Most women are killed by someone they know, not a stranger. However I think all women moderate their behaviour when on their own, walking at night especially as they fear danger. Two interesting articles https://www.statista.com/statistics/288298/female-victims-of-homicide-england-and-wales-by-relationship-to-offender/?srsltid=AfmBOoqZ9-CIEJWe9kesKy2G_KWxjXPh-tXMRsLvKim0M6mS00dksiKH https://www.theguardian.com/education/2025/sep/23/majority-of-girls-and-young-women-in-uk-alter-behaviour-to-feel-safe-study-finds?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other   Other crimes https://crimerate.co.uk/london personally I always go for the most crowded train carriage late evening and I carry my keys in my hand when walking from the train station…. It’s that fear of violence that is scary …
    • What ever they decide I would have thought that the skate park would not be staying but really hope I am wrong as in my minds eye, I see the skate park as potential parking spaces after all if it is going to be community, flats, retail units, cafe, etc folks are going to want to have the parking availability - Amir like the parade of shops opposite. if the skate park goes then I think it is Dulwich Estate obligation to find another suitable area… a lot of community spirit and hard work went into developing the skate park and the youngsters should be very proud of what they have done  and achieved.
    • Hi all My car was stolen between 1.30pm-1.50pm today in SE22 East Dulwich in South East London. I have of course reported this to the police but not much is being done, so I thought I'd give this a shot. The registration is GM66YOV, though its possible the licence plate may have been changed by now. If you see it anywhere please contact me or the police. Thankyou!
