Mid-Century Modern housing in Dulwich: online talk 8pm 7 December

Recommended Posts

From the late 1950s through to the early 1970s almost 2000 new houses and flats were built in the Dulwich area with minimal impact on the ambience which had made it so attractive to previous generations.

To mark the publication of his new co-authored book 'Dulwich: Mid-Century Oasis', Ian McInnes, Chair of the Twentieth Century Society, will give an illustrated talk on the collaboration between the Dulwich Estate, house builder Wates and the Estate's architects, Austin Vernon & Partners. Tickets: suggested donation ?5, all proceeds to charity https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/on-the-street-where-you-live-dulwich-homes-a-mid-century-oasis-with-ian-tickets-207826293037

    • That's not a bad idea, though I also want to keep the site as simple and user friendly as possibly. It's ultimately about getting a balance between being informative and being a good read. Stars are useful but I'd like people to read the reviews too.
    • Standard places haven’t got any? Anyone seen any on sale this week? thanks
    • Sue. You really don’t have to keep saying about the electoral system    a) we all know about it b) it doesn’t matter    FPTP is the system we have always had and hopefully we will get rid of it someday but it is what it is    when anyone suggests changing the system Corbyn is right there at the front of the queue to prevent it   so its pointless him or any of supporters complaining about it    the evidence you want is the result of the elections. You can’t have clearer evidence.
    • Has anyone from the school commented? Have they said why? Is it a fresh start? Is it that Grove in the name may have connotations of wealth and they want to attract more applicants from a wider area? Is that it currently is linked to the DKH Estate?
