> In 2022 let?s resolve to get plenty of exercise, especially cycling. To get going here is our first ride for 2022 starting from Peckham at 10am on New Year?s Day itself. Registration on Eventbrite as usual. Note if all places are already booked it is worth checking back as there are occasional cancellations during the week. If you cannot make it, please cancel so that someone else can take the place. Even at the last minute it is worth cancelling.

> 10am to approx. 12.30. Start/finish Peckham Square (next to Peckham Library and Peckham Pulse Leisure Centre, SE15 5RY). With Jean and John leading route will head up to Peckham Rye and via LCN 22 to Ladywell Fields. Join lovely traffic-free Waterlink Way (National Route 21) and follow Ravensbourne and Pool Rivers to New Beckenham and on to Beckenham Place Park. Return by different route that starts with quiet streets followed by a very short stretch of busy road at Catford where we rejoin the outward route at Ladywell Fields. Then follow outward route back to Peckham. Will take a break at the park and view the Mansion and perhaps stroll down to the swimming lake, possibly get a coffee if any of the cafes are open. About 14 miles. Route map at

All the places on this ride were taken within a couple of hours. Ride organiser Bruce Lynn will lead a second ride to open up more spaces. This means that we can meet and chat at the beginning and end of the ride. The two groups will set off 5-10 apart.

If you tried to sign up before but couldn't, please try again.

    • The purge of hard left members that were part of Corbyn's, Mcdonnel's and Lansmans momentum that purged the party of right wing and centrist members. That's politics. It's what Blair did to win, its what Starmer had to do to win. This country doesn't vote in extreme left or right governments. That's partly why Corbyn lost  We're pretty much a centrist bunch.  It doesn't make it false either. It's an opinion based on the voting patterns, demography and statistics. Can you explain then why former mining constituencies that despise the tories voted for them or abstained rather than vote for Corbyns Labour?  What is the truth then? But he never got elected!!! Why? He should have been binned off there and then. Why he was allowed to hang about is an outrage. I hold him party responsible for the shit show that we've had to endure since.
    • Depends on what the Barista says doesnt it? There was no physical confrontation with the driver, OP thinks she is being targetted when she isnt. These guys work min wage under strict schedules so give them a break unless they damage your stuff
    • CPR Dave, attendance records are available on Southwark's website. Maggie Browning has attended 100% of meetings. Jon Hartley has attended 65%.
    • I do hope NOT, wouldn't trust Farage as far as I could throw him, Starmer & co.  He's backed by GB News which focus's predominantly on immigration while the BBC focus predominantly on the Israel - Gazza conflict.
