I just wanted to recommend Alan Wright, a phone engineer whose details I got from the forum. I was having real trouble with my broadband speed, caused by a faulty master socket and dodgy cabling so my responsibility rather than BT's. Alan came out within 24 hours and did an excellent job, diagnosing and fixing the problem for a fraction of the price that BT would have charged.
