Following the death of his wife, professional chef Cheng travels with his young son to a remote village in Finland in order to reconnect with an old friend.

Upon arrival, nobody in the village seems to know his friend ? but when a local caf? owner offers him accommodation in exchange for help in her kitchen, a cross-cultural exchange bridges the gap between the locals and their visitor.
