Hello! We're from the Grove skatepark (520 Lordship Lane)

This season we are doing a proper gardening led by greenfingered skater chaps and looking for adhoc volunteers. Don't need fixed committment but occasionally we need extra hands to shift bulky stuff etc.

This Thursday 3rd March (time not confirmed), we're going to bring in 2 tonnes of soil & would appreciate if anyone can help with it.

It's all very informal & friendly. If you are interested just keep an eye on this thread and turn up when you can.

There's not much planted yet but you are more than welcome to come in and have a peak at our progress so far. Just please be mindful of skaters zooming around when you walk across the skatepark, stay around the edge is one way to be safe for both you & the skaters. Probably the best time to take a look is in the early morning or rainy day when the skatepark is expected to be quiet.

Feel free to follow ^our gardening insta above for the latest, or dm me should you wish to!

    • Gosh, calm down.. How about not getting so heated, and not eat for 24 hours with sips of water? Try it and you may, just may understand, starvation, no water. No meds at all even if you need them - hasten to add, don’t do it at all if you are medically dependent. In fact, why doesn’t ED - do this for half a day - say in Oct, when everyone has come back from enjoying their, hols, new term starting and as a community, we could all be 1.? Before, November, fireworks, etc.
    • Many thanks I have sent them a message
    • Stop foreign aid spend and re-direct those funds to improve the lives of UK citizens.  People shouldn't have to rely on charities and food banks, their is enough food wasted in this country already which could be re-directed.  Let their own Govts feed them, why does the UK have to do it, how about other nations contributing.  Well if aid can't reach them, how are they supposed to be fed if as you say food parcels being dropped from planes doesn't work.  Lets sort out this country first and put UK citizens first for a change.
    • Well that really is not Christian Spirit at all - we all live in this world and yes, totally agree that it would be wonderful to have no conflict in the world but that is not possible. Yes we have people in need of food  in this country but overall enough charities and organisation in the west to help. We are talking about thousands of people who are starving - not just going hungry - a huge difference would you not agree ? Aid can’t reach people - for whatever conflict and don’t think people dropping parcels, boxes etc from planes would be the answer either.
