womanofdulwich
Someone told me today that stamps are being changed to a barcode system and old ones are being phased out, i think from 31march you can swap old stamps. I'm not sure if this means i can swap my father's old unused stamp collection . Anyone know more? jazzer
Don't know about a stamp collection, but for unused stamps with the Queens head on them you can get a form from the Delivery/sorting office counter from end of this month, or the Royal Mail website. Unfortunately the Post Office for some unknown reason will not hold these forms (possibly to make the process more inconvenient). My understanding is and please correct if I'm wrong, that you then have to complete the form and send it with the stamps to the address on the form. They'll send you back replacement stamps. As a suggestion I'd count up how many 1st, 2nd and other stamps you have, keep a record and photographic evidence as proof just in case. IMO the process would have been far simpler if stamps could have been exchanged at a Post Office, (oh they shut the big post Office in Rye Lane and the one on Lordship Lane is a small one)Good Luck....
