I?ve got to have a blood test as I?ve been suffering from bouts of fatigue recently but have been taking an over-the-counter iron supplement & multivits. I asked the receptionist but she was very vague & it?s v hard to contact the GPs at my surgery- does anyone have any idea? thanks!

create an account (ours is with Ask My GP but you need to ask your GP receptionist and they can send you a link) - you can book appointments as well as get advice. you email your issue/ question and they respond, usually same day.

Fatigue can also come from lack of Vit D. It's also important to have magnesium and Vit B12 - depends on your diet really but you can try an improve your diet and see if that makes a difference (usually does).

Go for a blood test and then you'll know for sure.

sometimes the supplements OTC are not a strong enough dosage.

My understanding from that is that you've been told by a doctor that s/he wants those done, and that you've probably already been given the form to take to the phlebotomy unit for the sample to be taken. Is that the case? If it is, does the form specify any other items to be included in the tests, as I think is usually the case? And is your worry that your taking of the supplements will affect the results?

    • Hi there,  I wanted to give a big shout out to Kushy Move. An idependent letting agent on Bellendon Road. My family have used Kushy's services for more than 20years. He knows the market in this area very well. He has always found us incredible tenants promptly, and has got a fair price. He looks after our tenants and our properties well. He has always given very good advice when assessing our properites.  With so many letting and sales agents in the area (and I have dealt with a lot!), I have always found Kushy to be straight forward and no nonsense.  Highly recommended!
    • From tomorrow, 21st May at midday, Lord Biggar CBE, Regius Professor Emeritus of Moral & Pastoral Theology at Oxford University, talks with Chris Haydon and a small invited audience on PECKHAM PODCAST. This is the Professor who set out to draw up a balanced view of Empire and history but walked into a storm. "OMG, this is serious shit", said one Cambridge academic on hearing of Biggar's plan. Meet the man himself, unless of course you think this Regius Professor Emeritus should be cancelled still.
