Did you know that the government plans to introduce best value tendering in the criminal courts? That means that private companies will bid for contracts, line their pockets and farm out the cheapest "lawyers" they can find. See Sarah Vine's excellent article in the Guardian yesterday as to the effect that will have. I am resisting the urge to rant but if you are accused of or the victim of crime please note that the aim of the system will be speed and price, not justice.

Anyone with skill and integrity is leaving or planning to leave the criminal bar and I'm one of them.

However having been a criminal (prosecution and defence) advocate for nearly 20 years I feel sure that I have bags of transferable skills but unsure what they are transferable to. So I need to find someone to help give me some direction, write a CV etc.

Can anyone recommend a patient, decent, dynamic recruitment consultant?

    • Ground nesting bees are different. They don't swarm in the same way. https://beehunterma.com/how-to-safely-get-rid-of-ground-nesting-bees/#:~:text=Using a hose%2C gently soak, labeled for ground-nesting bees. Sorry I think that might be American bees. But so far as I can see the method for UK bees with water would be the same. It seems the most humane way, as it just encourages them to relocate. I had a nest of white tailed bumble bees in my garden last year. It was fascinating watching them go in and out of the ground.   But then I didn't need to put a shed over them!
    • If it's a bumble bee nest they won't be interested. But they are an important part of the local ecology. I don't know whether bumbe bee nest can be transferred readily. But they shouldn't be destroyed.
    • Check the British Beekeepers Association for a local expert to collect your swarm
