stick to your guns, if you want metal gutters - have metal gutters !

it's not a dark art and if a roofer can't fit metal guttering he's surely questionable as a tradesman ?

main change in cost of having the work done should be in cost of the guttering and fittings as you'd imagine it's more expensive than plastic, plus also I'd expect the metalware can't clip into the original plastic brackets due to weight, so there'd be some re-work required which would increase the labour total.


Why not find the kit you want on line, estimate what you need, then ask a roofer/builder to quote for fitting the kit (while validating your estimate of kit needed) ?


I'm not a roofer but I've fitted plasticware on a few properties, ironware on one.

    • Surely that depends on the amount.  It can be quite piffling.

    • I was not suggesting anything else!   I'm not sure how you interpret what I said  as "irrelevant"? I was responding to a post saying that Corbyn was "unelectable". My point was that a  large number  of the electorate  voted for him!
