Ruffler
BBC3 should have gone back to iPlayer too. Does anyone actually watch it? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/309554-bbc-to-move-cbbc-and-bbc-four-online/#findComment-1582219 Share on other sites
JohnL
They are also merging BBC News and BBC World Service I think - BBC World Service was a pretty famous name Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/309554-bbc-to-move-cbbc-and-bbc-four-online/#findComment-1582235 Share on other sites
JohnL
Wow and we are saying goodbye to Long Wave - that's a memory of my youth.10 years ago the Guardian claimed only 10 valves were left in the world and now obviously the last one has blown.https://www.theguardian.com/media/2011/oct/09/bbc-radio4-long-wave-goodbye Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/309554-bbc-to-move-cbbc-and-bbc-four-online/#findComment-1582237 Share on other sites
Nigello
BBC World is the telly, and not available to people here, only abroad, becuase is is partly funded by ads. World Service is the radio, which is not merging with anything. The new TV channel will be BBC News and will have opt outs, I think, for when the global news agenda is radically different from waht is happening at home. womanofdulwich
So, if you don't have an internet tv, you cant watch these channels? What a shame, especially for families who like to watch tv together, plus those that like to educate themselves without a computer. I thought one of the tenets of the BBC was education.? Nigello
Families still will be able to watch together, either live (because the channels are not being taken off air) or via iplayer, at a time that suits them all.
