Bob Buzzard
I got a great new cheese knife from the smelly French cheese stall in Borough Market - it?s a diamond cut Japanese steel cheese knife with a double serrated edge that obliquely cuts the cheese to bring out the flavour. And it?s cunningly made to look like a normal dinner knife so you don?t feel pretentious when using it. And it was reduced from ?99 to ?75! And it came in a recycled cardboard presentation box. Bob Buzzard
I really vintage Edam - very flavoursome. I?ve been using it for cutting Shropshire Blue. Spartacus
I suspect, Seabag, that if Bob could do cheese carvings like some do with chainsaws in wood or ice, then his guests would be more impressed 🤔Maybe his knife obsession is why Mrs Buzzard is obsessed with building work 😅 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/310307-new-cheese-knife/#findComment-1584224 Share on other sites
malumbu
You can get really nice knife sets from bargain shops for about a tenner. They are a bit bendy and don't cut that well but look impressive.I find it best to buy cheap mild cheddar of unknown country of production from the supermarkets. It cuts with a blunt table knife, and you don't have to worry about the taste as there isn't any. It goes well with any booze, particularly Concorde wine. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Concorde-Medium-Sweet-Wine-75cl/dp/B01DYTHRB8 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/310307-new-cheese-knife/#findComment-1584262 Share on other sites

Bob Buzzard
I can only eat and drink craft-based food and drink like Northern Monk pale ale or a artisan loaves - I get terrible dyspepsia with mass produced food. Alan Medic
Why is a greasy spoon called a greasy spoon? Surely a greasy knife and fork is more appropriate?
