I got a great new cheese knife from the smelly French cheese stall in Borough Market - it?s a diamond cut Japanese steel cheese knife with a double serrated edge that obliquely cuts the cheese to bring out the flavour. And it?s cunningly made to look like a normal dinner knife so you don?t feel pretentious when using it. And it was reduced from ?99 to ?75! And it came in a recycled cardboard presentation box.

Get a grip Bob

It?s only cheese. And imagine this. You get your super cheese knife out at a dinner party or lunch, you wang on about it.

Guests leave.

Them:

?What the fk was all that b0110x about a cheese knife, do the Japanese even eat cheese ?!?

You:

?I think they were impressed with my cheese knife?

You can get really nice knife sets from bargain shops for about a tenner. They are a bit bendy and don't cut that well but look impressive.

I find it best to buy cheap mild cheddar of unknown country of production from the supermarkets. It cuts with a blunt table knife, and you don't have to worry about the taste as there isn't any. It goes well with any booze, particularly Concorde wine.

Malumbu, this is the best post in a long time, I?m laughing out loud!

So no builders tea or bacon butties for you Bob, maybe that's Mrs Buzzards secret vice, a quick one in a greasy spoon🤔

    • They used to have dedicated park wardens, who I'm sure used to look after the parks and locked and opened the gates. Years ago I knew someone who was one. I thought they were based in that hut by the toilets. Are they not there any more? The community wardens are attached to the police rather than a specific park, aren't they?
    • Yes, sad how Rye Lane has taken a dive, interesting to see those pics CPR Dave. It's shocking how the section between Choumert Road and the Nag's Head in particular has lost its vibrancy, meanwhile the next section to the top of Peckham Rye Common has gentrified. Wonder why such a distinction in fortunes? Anyway the station square plans have fallen behind yet again, demolition won't now start this summer. The only "work" that will now take place this summer is surveying of the arcade, which they've had 10 years since planning permission to do. At least the replacement TSB branch has progressed but the Blenheim Grove corner building still looks unfinished, despite claims it "is now complete". https://www.southwark.gov.uk/planning-environment-and-building-control/current-and-future-development/peckham-and-nunhead-2
    • DKH was two form entry, it is now one form entry to cope with the fact it was far more under subscribed than other schools in the area. They had actually combined year groups into single classes, 3/4 and 5/6.  When a school changes name, it’s usually because of a bad reputation perhaps the results.  The new name is dry with no history unlike its current name. It’s a very sketchy decision. It’s an expensive vanity project for someone.  What  will happen if the name change does not increase applications to the school?
