After Covid, lockdown and other mishaps, Community Speedwatch is staggering back on the road. There's a new guy in charge from the Met called Christopher Billington [email protected]. He's trying to get in touch with all the regular volunteers and find some new ones.

I wrote this https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/66-in-a-20mph-zone/ blog post on Speedwatch a long time ago now but it gives you an idea. If you know a particularly dangerous spot then let Mr Billington know and he will check it out and (if he agrees it's dangerous) then he'll organise a Speedwatch session there.

To volunteer, mail him (see above) with details of your wishes and availability. Give it a try. It's fun. For more det ails DM me or text 07543 842160

    • But people getting up for work or if they’re a carer having to get up after a few hours sleep would know it’s gone 11pm as they’re kept awake by selfish people!
    • I agree. Midnight I can understand when it's celebrating the start of a new year (under whatever system) but not otherwise. Though re the wildlife, it's going to affect them whatever time it is, I don't suppose they know it's gone 11pm!
    • Looking for someone naughty on the ground? What other reason would there be, if it hasn't landed anywhere?
    • Yes I get your gist, but maybe you could just name a few of the very many you mention? I'm not sure why you find it very concerning that somebody would leave Labour for the Greens? So have many people, including me.
