My 2 yo has always loved to be held and carried, but at the moment he wants to be continually in my arms, and it is hard work. While trying to wash my hair in the shower earlier while holding a naked and slippery toddler, I just stopped for a minute and thought how deliciously snuggly his little body is and how his head just nestles in the crook of my neck. Wont be long till he is long and leggy like the others. He will never again be that little heavy bundle I used to drape over my shoulder or who would sleep on my chest.

I think today when all 4 are fighting for a slice of my lap, I will try to stop and appreciate the cuddles for the joy they are.

Wow F what are you trying to do to us? (Specifically 1 month post partum me!) that was so lovely - both your comment and that video. It's so true. I'm already cherishing every moment of newborn-ness with no 2 and lamenting how old and big no 1 is now (at only 2.8)... But yes we think it will last forever, every phase, every delight and every challenge and it won't, that's the real certainty!

Thank you for sharing and for the lovely, sob-wrenching reminder to really savour the cuddles and the little, ordinary moments...

xx

My daughter is now 1 and has just realised the concept of trying to fight for the space on my knee by biting her big brother on the bum to get him off...and when she finally gets him off she gives him the smuggest look i've ever seen.

Not quite sure why but it warms the cockles of my heart more than anything else!!

    • NYE is always like this. If you’re concerned about your pets, please consider seeing a vet as they can help. We give our dog valerian and play calming music, which helps especially after long walks and a big dinner. If it’s for yourself, it’s one night, so also suggest seeing your doctor for advice.  It is loud, although more predictable ( kept to evening:to midnight) than Guy Fawkes celebrations which go on for days and are arguably selfish and inconsiderate. Either way, it’s a very difficult time for many.
    • Thanks Rowan! Well done you have done amazing on your fitness journey. Happy New Year EDF and all my wonderful clients whom I've had the pleasure to train this year. I'm looking forward to 2026 🙌🎊
    • Happy New Year all, I sent a request for reimbursement of fines issues during all this …. Lambeth Council issued unjust parking tickets. Got a reference number back from them.. not heard for three months and from memory expires in Jan. Been round Lambeth Council offices and got know no where except being passed round in circles. Does anyone have a contact number or name please? Talking about a couple of hundred quid. Please do delete if not allowed but sure others have been effected as well…  Thanks and Happy New Year.
    • Yet I notice the station M&S building which I believe you James were involved with is 4 storeys high
