Kim at the Day Lewis pharmacy on Forest Hill Road mentioned that she is organising a charity fun day to raise money for ALD LIFE: www.aldlife.org so I suggested she let people know about it on the forum...


The Fun Day will be held outside the chemist, on the parade of shops on Forest Hill Road (opposite the doctor) on Saturday 18 May from 10am to 1pm.


To raise money for this local charity there will be:


raffles (lots of great prizes from local shops such as vouchers from Beauty Plus and Si Mangia),

face painting,

cake stall, and

bric-a-brac.


They will also be offering such services as blood pressure checks, and information on quitting smoking.


Please come along and show your support for ALD LIFE and for our local shops. Day Lewis the pharmacy will be also donating money (I think Kim said they would match whatever she raises) in honour of the pharmacy's anniversary.

      Thanks for these responses. Yes, Cllr Browning & Cllr Hartley did a door-knocking exercise a couple of months ago. It was Maggie Browning who knocked and I told her that I'd had radio silence from Jon Hartley. She looked embarrassed but not surprised. I have spoken to him since, only after writting to Ellie Reeves, our MP about it his lack of response. He agreed to address the issue I asked about but I've not heard from him since. It's really not acceptable for an elected Councillor to consistently ignore his ward constituents. Since it's clearly not a one-off, I'm gonna pick this up formally. I'll let you know how I get on...

      If memory serves, Labour under Corbyn got more electoral  votes than Labour under Starmer. So I'm not sure how you can call that being "unelectable"? Under a different and fairer electoral system Labour would have won. I see moves are afoot to bring in such a different, fairer system, presumably in the hopes of stopping Reform winning next time. BTW there was a mass exodus from Labour  by  the local (East Dulwich) Labour party members when Corbyn was kicked out by Starmer. It isn't just Islington who doesn't want to support  a right or centre right Labour party.
