I had just previewed a post I had written in the Trades section (about a delicious meal I had yesterday), went to add something on the end of it, and the whole thing disappeared ๐Ÿ™„

I was completely unable to get it back.

Had I been on my laptop I might have tried control Z, but I was on my mobile. Tried looking at my history but it wasn't there.

Should I have saved the draft? I don't recall anything like this ever happening before.

It was quite a long post, and I didn't have the energy or inclination to write it all out again from scratch ๐Ÿ™„

Hi Sue,

I had a look at the server page view logs to see what happened.

ย

  • I can see you requested the New Post page from the server in the Trades section at 08/Aug/2022 17:17:26
  • Then your browser requested the forum homepage on 17:18:30
  • Then the 'About This forum' section at 17:18:53 (and presumably posted this thread)

So based on that, it suggests you may have accidentally pressed the Home button on the page as you were writing the message.

If you accidentally navigate to a different page while writing a message, you should be able to press the back button and the message will still be there. On Android Chrome, the back button is usually the < arrow at the bottom of the screen.

The "Save Draft" is also helpful if you are writing a long message. If you press that then next time you enter the posting page you will see a "Load Draft" button next to the "Save Draft".

    • Oh yes, it could have been about there, I can't remember exactly. At one point there seemed to be a load of pizza places opening on NCR. I vaguely remember the one we used to use was put out of business by another one which opened. Wasn't Grace and Favour's food offering more of a tea shop at the back of the actual shop? If memory serves the owner, whose name escapes me now, was one of the earliest people I know to move to Hastings. Which must now be crammed with South East Londoners ๐Ÿคฃ
