Hello

After some advice for a friend.

Does anyone have any advice/tips on tranistioning a 2.5 yr old who has had a sole-charge nanny since the age of 1 yr to a nursery?

We have a toddler the same age who recently started nursery, but we've done a nanny share from the age of one so she'd been used to being dropped off elsewhere and left with other people. So different scenario really. Any wisdom greatly appreciated, as always!

Thanks

Mix as much as possible, go out and about as much as possible, just generally socialise to ger him/her used to more people and noise etc. Kids are incredibly adaptable, so even if settling in period is tough s/he will get used to it and have lots of fun with all the other children at nursery - my son went from childminder (he had been with since 8 months til 2 and a bit years) to nursery and took a few weeks but he was fine and absolutely loved the additional stimulation and space to run around - still does in fact :)

    • Excited about this. Hope they’re the ones to finally make that site work.
    • Wearing a balaclava and hood in 30 degree heat should certainly be grounds for police to stop and search / question you. If it’s not grounds for suspicion I don’t know what is.
    • The fact is, high spec phones are worth money. Be secure - passwords, face recognition, strong passwords for your banking etc.  Get your phones backed up. Get your phone insured. Don't fight if you are being robbed. It’s just a phone. Be safe. Annoying as it is, it’s prolific and you can take steps to minimise your chance of being targeted.
    • Your point being what? Kids in face masks all in black? Being going on in ED for years..  wake up, gangs are around or is this first time you have been aware.. No doubt your hubby walked away - probably ran when he felt safe..
