rgutsell
Hiya all2 new camera's, on rather poorly secured poles, have appeared in ED Grove, and appear to be recording the Zebra crossing opposite the church. Maybe the council is planning an intervention here; it's definitely a strectch of rtoad that hasa lot of speeding going on.Rgutsell Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/31537-new-cameras-in-east-dulwich-grove/ Share on other sites

kford
They won't be used to catch speeding motorists, as they aren't certified as speed cameras. More likely for parking enforcement or traffic flow. And they won't be valid unless there are signs telling motorists they're there. MarkE
The whole junction is due a rethink - ratrunners enjoy it, but it's also a popular pedestrian route to the station as well as being a main artery into ED from Herne Hill. The Zebra isn't particularly visible to motorists who often overshoot it, and pedestrians (I will admit myself included) tend to cut across away from the crossing.Add that to the parked cars near the junction which make getting in/out of it difficult, and you've got a case for permanent signals for all. Further, if they end up routing the Cycle Superhighway via this junction next year, it'd be almost nailed on.
