Hello, my name is Rachel. I am a nanny based in SE London and I'm looking for a 3/4 day role offering around 25 - 35hrs pw. I have also spoken with my current family, and they could be willing to enter a nanny share arrangement too, if it fits in with all our needs.

I have 5 years total childcare experience, having worked and gained my level 3 qualification in a nursery and also having worked with 2 families (4yo and currently with a 6yo), plus some ad-hoc hours in a nanny share arrangement with 2 toddlers. I am a fun, caring and compassionate person who also enjoys engaging in activities like arts and crafts, sports, reading etc. I have experience with potty training, allergies and also some with weaning from my time at nursery and with my own nephews who I helped with a lot when they were very little. I have my DBS from April 2021 which I'm currently in the process of renewing, I am first aid trained and also have my driving licence (automatic only) 😊

Hi Rachel,

We are based in Honor Oak and looking for a nanny for our 9 month old son, Burton.

We're both freelance and looking for someone to help 3 days a week for around 3 hours per day - so 9 hours total. As he's very little we wouldn't want him to be away from us for more than that but we can see this would increase in the new year. Perhaps you'd consider meeting us and seeing if it could fit in around your other family as well?

Looking forward to your response.

Ben and Katie

Hey again Rachel,

We had talked about tuesday-thursday as a potential block but we are fairly flexible.

Time wise: We are both working from November time and so ideally somewhere around 3-6pm would be good as it allows a changeover time for us - I work evenings and Katie works days at the moment.

But at the same time we are keen to just meet someone who might be free for some ad hoc babysitting should we need it. So we're sort of looking for both.

Let us know if it's something you'd like to chat about further and I can send you my details.

All the best

Ben

Hi again,

With my current family my work times are 3-7pm Mon-Thurs so it's not something that sounds like it will fit in with that unfortunately. Also due to my own situations, ad hoc isn't something I'm looking for as I need to prioritise finding a permanent role first.

I wish you the best of luck on your search!

Many thanks

Rachel

    • Ahh, that's too bad. The SLP was always on sale in Sainsbury's and always available in libraries. They did some really detailed local crime reporting and local government reporting that other outlets wouldn't focus on.
    • Miranda Sawyer of the (once) Observer has done a piece on festival on Insta which might be of-interest.  Councils are private companies, imo. They make money for themselves, imo.  I do not think by law that they have to follow anything brought up by a consultation, this is for 'face' only - hence, LTNs and everything else.
    • My understanding is the "free event" is 100% Gala, nothing to do with the council. Obviously Gala will still make money from the food & drink that they are trying to coerce punters into buying on their social media posts. Their costs will be negligible due to already having the infrastructure in place for Gala. So Gala are trying to appear community minded by providing this "free event", but the real goal is to set a precedent for a fourth day's festival - which surely no one could possibly object to?!? - in preparation for applying (again) for two three-day festivals spread over two weekends. It's only another two days, right, and the site & equipment is already there, so why would anyone object?!? More money for the council, much more money for Gala, win-win right? But yet another week of our park taken away from us, too, and another 18,000 people trampling & littering the park, and another week of disturbance for the native birds & wildlife...
    • Meson Don Felipe on The Cut was my go to place for many years. Though it's now many years since I was there. 10-15 minute walk from the Tate. If you go can you tell me what it's like nowadays?
