Hello, my name is Rachel. I am a nanny based in SE London and I'm looking for a 3/4 day role offering around 25 - 35hrs pw. I have also spoken with my current family, and they could be willing to enter a nanny share arrangement too, if it fits in with all our needs.

I have 5 years total childcare experience, having worked and gained my level 3 qualification in a nursery and also having worked with 2 families (4yo and currently with a 6yo), plus some ad-hoc hours in a nanny share arrangement with 2 toddlers. I am a fun, caring and compassionate person who also enjoys engaging in activities like arts and crafts, sports, reading etc. I have experience with potty training, allergies and also some with weaning from my time at nursery and with my own nephews who I helped with a lot when they were very little. I have my DBS from April 2021 which I'm currently in the process of renewing, I am first aid trained and also have my driving licence (automatic only) 😊

Hi Rachel,

We are based in Honor Oak and looking for a nanny for our 9 month old son, Burton.

We're both freelance and looking for someone to help 3 days a week for around 3 hours per day - so 9 hours total. As he's very little we wouldn't want him to be away from us for more than that but we can see this would increase in the new year. Perhaps you'd consider meeting us and seeing if it could fit in around your other family as well?

Looking forward to your response.

Ben and Katie

Hey again Rachel,

We had talked about tuesday-thursday as a potential block but we are fairly flexible.

Time wise: We are both working from November time and so ideally somewhere around 3-6pm would be good as it allows a changeover time for us - I work evenings and Katie works days at the moment.

But at the same time we are keen to just meet someone who might be free for some ad hoc babysitting should we need it. So we're sort of looking for both.

Let us know if it's something you'd like to chat about further and I can send you my details.

All the best

Ben

Hi again,

With my current family my work times are 3-7pm Mon-Thurs so it's not something that sounds like it will fit in with that unfortunately. Also due to my own situations, ad hoc isn't something I'm looking for as I need to prioritise finding a permanent role first.

I wish you the best of luck on your search!

Many thanks

Rachel

    • That's a disgusting slur against an innocent driver who was probably just on their way to drop off freshly-baked muffins at an orphanage when they had to swerve out of the way of a so-called "cyclist", and anyway traffic lights are just a Marxist conspiracy by Southwark Council to slow traffic down and force people out of cars, so we're all better off without it.
    • Frothy coffee? Not really my bag. A double espresso and a Marlboro Red? It's the breakfast of champions. The only dark drink with a creamy head which should ever be drunk by a man of my age is Guinness. I've also become lactose intolerant recently, meaning I get very impatient around milk. You make a fair point, but those legal channels are available for them to recover their repair, and legal, costs and, as I said: "It's up to them if they [Southwark] want to do that, of course." There's three or four grands worth of Cat N write-off, wrapped round a post there (more, if it's broken down for parts) causing problems. If they can't be arsed sorting that, I'm not holding my breath. Even Southwark couldn't screw their numbers up enough to make shifting the post back through circa 15 degrees more than a couple of grand, so there's a drink in it for everyone. It's a bit 'leany' just now, yeah, but I haven't noticed anyone having to limbo under it to get to Superdrugs. Or, they could make a feature of it. Pisa has made a fortune out of not sorting the underpinnings of their tower. Let's say it's an installation by someone called, I don't know, Bangsy, and it's a physical reminder that SE22 cannot deny its proximity to Peckham, Camberwell & Brixton. It's about the only thing that would get me back into The Bishop since the many dark afternoons of the soul I spent with Clarence*, the world's most depressed Weimaraner. *RIP big fella. • Loving the arm chair speculation on here  Blimey how long before this gets spun out to be a drug dealer welding a sawn off whilst driving away from a smash and grab at the coop cash machine flipped his car and landed on a bollard type post  Where's the green cross code man when you need him ?
