Hi all,

Roughly 8wks ago (as I work a late shift) my husband met me at the bus stop on Lordship Lane to escort me home and walking up North Cross Rd and cutting through Ulverscroft Road (around midnight) I noticed 3 kittens (1 black and 2 white/mixed) outside and immediately thought they are too young to be left unattended. One house had it's lights on, music playing and ground floor front window open, so I knocked the front door to ask "are these your kittens" and without hesitation the man said "yes, they are mine" and let me place them back into his house and closed the door.

Now 2wks ago coming home late again, I saw a kitten and recognised it as the black one from the original trio. I've been concerned since as to it's well being as there were many foxes around.

Yesterday, I had a day off from my working late shifts and thought I'd knock at to ask if the kittens are well, as I saw one out again 2wks prior... the guy (with his wife silently hovering in the background) now claims that they never had kittens and they have alot of strays in the back garden???

I wish originally he said he didn't want them and I would have took them off his hands 8wks ago.

I suggest you report your concerns to the RSPCA or Celia Hammond. RSPCA can do a welfare check and get any unwanted kittens signed over for rehoming.

Many thanks for the advice. I've spoken to neighbouring residents and have been informed that the black kitten has now been received by Celia Hammond.

    • It didn't occur to me to ask. No idea if dieticians are employed within the NHS. It is just one line of enquiry among others. The GP mentioned it, not me.
    • I thought the most they sell in terms of hot food at londis is like pastries and sausage rolls and for hot drinks its like costa coffee but its always a convenience store. Doesn’t look too bad in my opinion considering that shop has been closed down ever since i moved here
    • Hi Busterb, Yesterday I turned up with a scanner & towels, hoping to take a deceased tabby down to TNV. The body was moved moments before arrival & had not been turned in to any vets, rescues or animal hospitals. I am wondering if this could have been the same cat & if someone just tried to move the tabby further away from the road. Please be warned, viewers discretion is advised. but this is what the deceased tabby looked like: https://www.facebook.com/groups/900015513463302/permalink/3729980853800073/  In any case, if you haven't been able to get someone to scan or take down to a vet, I can scan tomorrow morning.
    • Wholeheartedly recommend Aria. He was polite, responsive and sorted our leak, from an old tap on an old plumbing system, with no bother and on same day.
