Swap! St John's and Goose Green

Hi I am a regular poster, but have got a new username just to be discreet. We have been offered a place at St Johns for September 2013. That's great news and we would be happy with it; BUT our first choice school is Goose Green. We are quite high on the waiting list.

Obviously we are not going to decline St Johns until we are assured of a place at GG. It occurred to me that there must be others in this position (but reversed, if you see what I mean). I presume a straight swap is out of the question, because it depends on waiting lists etc?

I can't imagine that would be possible although it is a nice thought! The waiting list has to follow some defined guidelines else it would be chaos with people swapping places with neighbours/friends etc.

It could lead to a market with payments.

Well I think it's a great idea. We could maybe swap them for a bottle of wine. Nothing over a fiver, to make it fair...
