Hi

Has anyone else noticed their electricity dipping quite frequently and their lights flickering over the past couple of weeks?

My neighbours have had the same issue so I think it must be an issue with the main supply. We are in Oakhurst Grove.

When I checked the UK Power Networks website there have been a few power cuts in the area which are now fixed but it hasn't resolved the flickering.

I will report the issue to them but it would be good to know if anyone else has noticed the same problem.

Thanks

I have reported this to UK Power Networks and they are going to investigate but they said that anyone experiencing the same problems shoudl also report it as it will help to locate the source of the problem and increase the urgency.

The number to report it is 0800 31 63 105

This is interesting, we've been having the same problem on Tyrrell road for the last week.

Thanks for letting me know.

Looks like it's our little area then. If you are able to report it would be really helpful. It seems to be getting worse I think today.

Thanks to everyone who reported this. After a few hours power outage on Monday night while they fixed the faulty cable the issue on Oakhurst was resolved and mine has definitely been fine ever since. I hope everyone else’s is now fixed too. If not get onto uk power networks. They will send engineers to investigate.

    • I’m currently conducting exploratory research into menstrual health education in UK secondary schools and would really value the insight of PSHE leads, Heads of Year, or pastoral staff.    The research aims to understand:   How the menstrual cycle is currently taught within the RSHE framework Where schools feel confident — and where there may be gaps Whether students are taught and  asking questions around the full menstrual cycle, symptoms, wellbeing and conditions such as PMS/PMDD or endometriosis How schools support students in feeling empowered to understand their bodies and seek help appropriately Whether education around nutrition, lifestyle, and menstrual wellbeing is currently addressed   The long-term goal is to explore whether there is a need for additional, age-appropriate, medically informed support on the menstrual cycle.  I’m not selling a programme and there is no obligation beyond a 30 minute informal chat online (Unpaid). All conversations will be confidential and used only to inform the research. If you work in a UK secondary school and would be willing to share your perspective, I would be extremely grateful to hear from you. Please comment below or email me [email protected] Thank you for the vital work you do. Best wishes, Emma
