Came across this and thought it may be of interest to those who are eligible: Help to Save Scheme:

'Launched back in 2018, the Help to Save schemes offers low income earners, claiming Universal Credit and other benefits, a savings boost.

It pays a 50 percent bonus on their savings, up to £1,200. To get the maximum £1,200, each eligible person in the household will need to save £50 a month for four years.

With the bonus, this will increase your cash saving to £3,600, the equivalent of saving £75 per month. If there are two people who can open an account each, the totals will be doubled.

The problem is, not many know they are eligible for the scheme. Since its launch around 270,000 people are thought to have opened a Help to Save account.

So who can open an account?

Well you can if you live in the UK and receive one of the following benefits:

Work tax Credit

Child Tax Credit

Universal Credit

Your eligibility will be checked during an application process. If you are eligible, there are two ways you can open an account.

Go to the Help to Save page on gov.uk, where it will ask you to sign into your government Gateway account. Alternatively call 0300 322 7093 and the HMRC helpline advisors will assist you with setting up an account.''

    • It was indeed in the vicinity of DKH. I live on the ED estate and I could tell it must be close by because of the noise. When I left my house this morning I found the culprits litter still in the middle of the st. It looked like they had lit a whole box on fire in the middle of the road. My cat jumped out of her skin. I’ll try and report it on Southwark website same as I have had to with other illegal use this week. Any other ideas for what we can do with the photos? Maybe one of the Southwark councillors. It’s outrageous and dangerous behaviour.
    • Had another great meal there…. those that haven’t tried it, give it a go.. have a special lunch menu as well so you can get a flavour of the food.
    • If you "cotton on" and read the council announcement, it clearly states "The library will be closed from 17 November until late June or early July 2026."  https://www.southwark.gov.uk/2025/dulwich-library-closing-refurbishment
    • I’ve been seeing Lisa at goose green clinic for energy work for a year now.  Lisa is kind, caring and hugely supportive. She is wonderfully masterful and trained as a reiki master for 20 plus years. Alongside other energy work.  My time spent with her is like therapy. An emotional safe space for deep conversations and reflection followed by relaxing and energising healing work.  each experience I’ve had has been different, the end result remains the same. Feel lighter, almost euphoric and almost float home. Definitely an experience not to be missed.  https://www.goosegreenclinic.net/therapies/healing-energy-work/
