I am a 17-year-old English tutor available to take on students in an online capacity.

I am accomplished in both English Language and Literature, and can offer help in areas including (but not limited to):

- Reading and analysis of prose and poetry.

- Structuring and writing of successful essays.

- Expansion of vocabulary and language skills.

- Creative writing.

I am acquainted with a wide range of different schools, educational methods and curriculums. Therefore, I can tailor the tutoring style specifically to your child.

My experience includes tutoring home-schooled secondary students in reading, exam questions, essay writing and creative writing. I am a keen writer, and have taken several writing courses in Boston, USA. I am also a voracious reader!

I achieved straight A’s in my GCSEs, and I am predicted to achieve the same in my A-levels.

Wherever a student’s path goes, English is a highly regarded life skill, and my passion is to ensure that every student feels as confident and enthusiastic in English Language and Literature as I do.

I am prepared to take on secondary-school students of any ability. I can consider younger students too.

Tutoring can take place via Google Meet, Skype or Zoom. Each student would have the option of their own Google Classroom where they could safely store all their work and assignments.

My rates are £20 an hour. I suggest that clients book in advance 4- or 6-week blocks. I offer a taster session at a rate of £10/hr.

Feel free to email me if you have any other questions or concerns! My email is [email protected].

All the best,

Mei De Greff Ball

    • I haven't had a rude EVRI delivery but last week I had an unexpected delivery at 10.42 pm. He didn't ring the bell or knock on the door (or rattle the letter flap) but just took a photo and put the box down.  If it hadnt been for the door camera giving us a beep we would never have known there was a parcel ready to sit there all night.
    • Sorry if I’m being slow but there’s no point in having a gate then is there?  Would have thought it was basic manners to respect someone’s property

    • I have a rescue Spanish greyhound (galgo) from the charity mentioned above. You can contact Greyhounds in Need or one of the more local Kent greyhound rescue charities. They are fantastic family dogs. They do love walkies 2 or 3 times a day but they actually don't need to be walked too far and then they will happily loaf around on the sofa being very chill. They are brilliant with kids but not recommended if you own a cat as they have a strong prey drive. They also should be kept on the lead in local parks. They prefer to be around other sight-hounds (well my one does) and there are loads of local sighthound owners in Peckham, Crystal Palace etc and a very lively WhatsApp group that is brilliant if you need dog sitting as you can usually find someone to do that for free in return for you looking after the dog at a later date etc.
