The Goose Is Out! Nick Hart, James Eagle, Kate Owen: The Ivy House, 40 Stuart Road SE15 3BE, Friday 31 March, Doors open 7pm.

Nick Hart is an award-winning singer and multi-instrumentalist whose work with English folk song is rapidly gaining him a reputation as one of the most acclaimed performers of his generation. His considered approach to accompaniment is informed by a deep respect for the nuances of traditional song and his captivating live performances are a testament to the importance he places on story-telling.


Nick has released three solo albums, 'Nick Hart Sings Eight English Folk Songs' (2017), Nick Hart Sings Nine English Folk Songs (2019) and "Nick Hart Sings Ten English Fol Songs" (2022) all to critical acclaim.


Nick has performed as an actor/musician, has worked as a composer/musical director for theatre, and is a sought after teacher and workshop leader.


James Eagle and Kate Owen are fine unaccompanied singers and longstanding visitors to our monthly Singarounds.

Last night's sets from Nick Hart were simply blinding. I don't profess to know much about English folk music - Irish Trad is my thing and it's pretty much all-consuming as far as listening/playing is concerned - but when you're in the presence of someone who is simply as good as it gets, you know!

      Yes, except round here is started in early September, through October, in all that means fireworks season is now 5 months of the year.  Again, what is the attraction in startling random bangs. Why do people think this is okay?

      Ahh, the traditional smell of the BT air fresher, hint of urine, used to stop people spending hours in the phone box and queues forming.  Although it is disgusting that people feel its their rights to treat a utility as their own personal litter bin and urinal. 😔
