Is anybody on here currently using MailChimp?

Were you aware that it has been taken over and you now have to pay for emailing more than 500 people?

I found this out accidentally. I have just looked at Trust Pilot reviews. One star 😡

Apparently this is from March. Nobody has notified us. I don't know what will happen when I try to send a newsletter this week.

Any ideas, anyone? Any other decent free newsletter providers?

I don't mind paying, but all this seems very underhand.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi Sue. I know this is weeks later so you will probably have already found your way around this

But in the intervening period, the newsletters I get from other sources have all migrated from mailchimp (noisily and with much criticism. Correctly) to Substack

I can’t vouch for the substack experience. But given it seems to be where the crowd is headed, I thought it worth sharing

Thanks Sephiroth.

I am using MailerLite now, which was recommended to me, and I've just sent out our first newsletter from there.

It isn't ideal for various reasons, and it's a bit of a steep learning curve, but I'll wait and see how it goes.

I haven't heard of Substack! I will investigate!

    • Walking around, it looks to me as if weedkiller has been used, as some weeds have been left in situ but are dead. However, most of the weeds which have been (apparently)  killed in this way are hardly likely to lift pavements, being things like Shepherd's Purse. They might seed around, but I'm not sure what harm that does. I would like to know exactly what is the remit of the council workers who are tasked with dealing with weeds in pavements (and in tree pits?). Things like dandelions which have taproots (but are hard to remove in one piece)  have been left in the pavement,  whereas things like Toadflax (which don't, and are easy to just pull out) have been removed.
    • Yet another recommendation for Casper the  handyman.   He recently completed some odd jobs around our house including installing curtain rails and hanging pictures.  He offered practical solutions to the issues that arose, was efficient and communicative.  Very reasonable rates. We’ll be using his services again and have recommended to family & friends.

    • The seller hasn't been named on here, and it isn't clear that it was a genuine misunderstanding, given the contents of the OP. Maybe it should be left as a warning to others to try things out before you take them home. Or indeed before you sell them. If  something seems wrong, it probably is. It shouldn't have taken a public post to resolve things . Also, if the laptop actually belongs to a company, it wasn't the seller's to sell, regardless of how he obtained it.
