Advance notice. Keep Easter Monday Free if you fancy a long ride. Werner is planning a 60km, 6 hour ride to celebrate the BBC’s Centenary. Ealing Studios, White City, Riverside Studios Hammersmith, Langham Place, Aldwych, Maida Vale and more. London Bridge start. More info and registration to come soon.

For Saturday April 1st we will have 2 rides, one 2 hours and one 3 hours, both starting from Peckham at 10am, details below.

Ride 1. Peckham to South Bank < https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/peckham-to-south-bank-southwark-healthy-ride-tickets-599022190497 >

10am start for 2 hour ride. Start/finish in Peckham Square, next to Peckham Library and Peckham Pulse Leisure Centre, SE15 5RY. Outward and return routes slightly different so riders can experience several of the TfL Cycleway routes including a wide range of infrastructure – the good, the bad and the ugly!

Out down Canal Path to join CW10 (was Q1) at Oxley Close, then follow CW10 to Blackfriars Rd where we join CW6 to Upper Ground which we use to access the South Bank. Return via Westminster Bridge Rd, Webber St (part of CW10 ), CW6 south towards Elephant, then the SW bypass route eventually joining CW17 (was Q7) at Brandon St. Continue to Burgess Park then back along the Canal Path to Peckham Square. Easy, flat ride using lots of cycle lane. Route at http://shorturl.at/eiF38

Ride 2. A Celebration of Elm Trees < https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/a-celebration-of-elm-trees-southwark-healthy-ride-tickets-599064045687 >

10.00am start at Peckham Library. Back for 1.00pm. Simon S leading. We'll go to the famous Lewisham Dutch Elm in Ladywell Fields, and stop for coffee and views in Brockwell Park on the way back.

The aim is to visit as many elm trees as possible in a short ride. The elms should be in fruit, and very visible. Plus a couple of "Elm" roads. As a bonus, we may see flowering cherries in the Herne Hill area. 14 miles, mostly on quiet roads and cycleways. A few ups and downs but nothing tough. Map at

    • What is it that makes Waitrose so special! Admittedly I have shopped a couple of times in the Orpington and Beckenham one - sometimes buying food which I cannot get else where. Their 'basic range' is not bad. Price for price and quality - M & S.
    • Sometimes a shed or other installation has to have written approval from the freeholder i.e. Southwark, Southwark has (or did have) a Leaseholder Association.   Could also come under Anti Social Behaviour Unit.
    • Love Dulwich is great but has a large step in front. We have only been weekdays at Lunch time. Maria's next to Picture House is disabled friendly. Also can reserve table in advance. We did a Sunday lunch catch up with family - there were 8 of us.
    • Hi, Thinking about  going with some friends and was just wondering if folk might like to report back please. Most importantly sound level when busy & is it disabled friendly.  Thinking on a Sunday lunchtime but don’t want a busy busy environment or loud chatter - a couple of friends could not cope. Time can be flexible, if that helps - say 2 ish to avoid above.. Thanks…
